Marine Fungi

The Marine Fungi Research Team specializes in the taxonomy and classification of marine fungi, which is a type of fungus found in marine environments. There are numerous forms of life, such as decomposition, parasitism, and coexistence with marine organisms. Marine fungi in Thailand's environment and geographic region are extremely diverse. Before being stored in the system for storing microorganisms, this group of fungal strains necessitates specialized care and type confirmation.

NBT Culture Collection (NBTCC)

The Microbe Bank (MNBT) has conducted research in a variety of fields, such as: Research on biodiversity to support the conservation program, particularly in Thailand, where taxonomy, classification, systematics, populations, distribution, and long-term preservation are the principal areas of study. As a result of the expertise of the MNBT's researchers, particularly in field research, numerous microbe strains have been isolated and stored for future study. Therefore, these skills will be utilized to care for and manage the preservation of cultural collections over the long term.

Investigate the long-term storage of microorganisms to ensure their survival and maximum property retention. Before the microbial collection can be introduced into the system, it must be validated and inspected. Additionally, it must meet the following criteria:

1. Biological diversity in Thailand
2. Type strain, new species, new record, new combination, endemic (unique) taxa, and rare or rare taxa.
3.List of Risk Groups 1 and 2
4. Evidence of a properly working collection (backed up in another collection)
5. An extreme climate, a unique habitat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, a biosphere reserve, and the EECi region.

5. An extreme climate, a unique habitat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, a biosphere reserve, and the EECi region.

6. Priority areas consist of sensitive areas, deforested areas, and areas with endangered species.
7. Uncharted territories (for example, community forests).
8. Preliminary data on properties that can be utilized

8. Preliminary data on properties that can be utilized Axenic culture with limited data (collection data, photograph, taxonomic 9description, and DNA sequence).
10. Legitimate specimen acquisition (with proof of permission)

Fungi

Fungi in the microbial warehouse Divided into several groups, such as marine fungi, microscopic fungi, and silaria, most of them were found to be decomposing groups. followed by the fatty acid group Useful in the production of food supplements, etc. Research on the development of utilization is carried out with partners from various institutions. Biodiversity Research The taxonomy is what is involved in studying and confirming the types of fungi stored in the microbial stockpile. It must contain information such as morphology, chemistry, growth rate, DNA barcode and the unique properties of each species.

Mushroom

Most of the fungi in stock are isolated by NSTDA researchers, which are wild mushrooms isolated from biodiversity survey research. Study the utilization with the local This fungus is found in various forest societies throughout Thailand. Morphology is studied. growth rate Primary microorganism properties for research on properties that have changed from long-term storage. and confirm the taxonomy by experts based on scientific evidence such as chemistry, peptides and DNA Barcoding, etc.  Research on utilization with partners

microbial bank under the National Biological Resources Bank It has a mission to collect data and preserve species of bacteria and archae that are biological resources of Thailand. To be a reference for the use of national information by collaborating with research personnel in foreign agencies in order to focus on research and development of identification methods based on polyphasic taxonomy. Study of the diversity and societies of bacteria and archaea. as well as the development and storage of bacterial strains and salinity archaea.
